Foreign Language Teaching and Research Methods



An introduction to the uses of statistical methods, data, and computer technology to understand and measure the effectiveness of foreign language teaching and to develop a research model to reveal the important aspects, such as the development of linguistic and strategic competences, of effective language pedagogy. Students will develop research skills to explore teaching effectiveness objectively. The methods to be employed in this course include reading and topic discussion, theoretical explanation, and case analysis; explore the role of quantitative measurement methods; and develop quantitative analysis and measurement methods to lay the foundation for foreign language teaching and research.
