Emerson Electric: Winning the Global Game

In this course we will analyze how Emerson Electric transformed itself from a great domestic manufacturing company to a superior global technology leader. Innovative products and services, rigorous financial management, and long-term planning separate Emerson from its competitors. Students will learn what corporate and competitive globalization means in the 21st century, and will write an in-depth stock research report on Emerson and present their recommendations to the class. We will explore valuation and modeling and how to articulate our conclusions in a persuasive manner. Students will have an opportunity to interview Emerson senior management and Wall Street analysts and fund managers. Open to students who have completed an 0200-level Economics course.
