Topics in Biotechnology

In this seminar course we will discuss primary research articles on current topics in biotechnology, or the harnessing of molecular biology to solve problems and cure diseases. We will look into new developments in therapies, as well as challenges still unsolved, and ethical dilemmas. Topics include DNA and RNA gene therapy, gene editing, the many uses of antibodies, how therapies can be directed to the correct part of the body, and how researchers are targeting proteins that are "undruggable".
