Language Teaching Practicum
This course is intended for fourth-year M.A. students approaching the completion of their degree. Its primary objective is to provide students with structured opportunities to critically reflect on their prior learning in areas including Chinese linguistics, literature, and language pedagogy. In addition, the course emphasizes the application of theories of language teaching and research to inform instructional practice, thereby equipping students to plan and design curricula for their own Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL) programs and for specific instructional contexts. The course further aims to develop students’ in-depth understanding of curriculum design grounded in standards-based and theme-based instructional principles. Students will also have opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge by designing and implementing thematic instructional units.
