Feminist Rebellions
Feminist Rebellions
In this course we will examine case studies of feminist and queer rebellions in the US, Latin America, and West Asia and explore connections across revolutionary struggles. We will study the enduring legacy of colonization and Western intervention that shape local and global social-political landscapes and foment resistance. Through the intersection of gender, race, class, and sexuality, students will trace the nuanced evolution of movements against historical and contemporary power structures that produce inequality. Students will engage with interdisciplinary texts, film, art, and media (legacy and social).
