Language Teaching Methodology

This course provides an overview of communicative, task-based language teaching and the relevant set of practical skills to be implemented in the classroom. Many of these skills are based on theory, while others can be learned through careful observation of expert teachers. Accordingly, this course is intended to effectively combine both the science and art of language teaching. Upon successfully completing the course, students will be able to identify different language teaching approaches, evaluate language learning and teaching situations, analyze Spanish teaching materials, and assess and apply the most effective techniques for each teaching situation. Students will produce a portfolio of teaching material according to the context in which they would like to teach. (1 unit)
