Teaching Practices in the Second Language Classroom

Teaching involves planning learning objectives, instructional content, teaching materials, activities, and so on. But it also requires constant adjustment throughout the lesson based on what is happening in the classroom. Structured around the reading of scholarly texts and the analysis of classroom practices, this course explores these two aspects of the language teaching profession. The classwork will place a strong emphasis on teachers’ perspectives and their experiences as learners (and, where applicable, as teachers), with the aim of fostering a thoughtful expansion of their teaching repertoire.
