Fundamentals of Musicianship

In this course we will develop fundamental skills of musicianship including melodic and rhythmic memory, basic music literacy, ensemble performance, and contextual study. We will sing, play, listen, and move as we study and practice essential elements of classical, folk, and popular music grounded in European traditions, as well as global musical styles outside the Western canon. No prerequisite or audition. Lecture/lab, 3 hrs/wk.
