FREN 3251A
Intermediate
Level 2.5 is designed for students who have received previous instruction in French and are able to function quite independently in full immersion.
The focus is on developing listening comprehension, oral competence, and socio-cultural communicative proficiency and on acquiring strategies for oral and written expression through progressive practice and phonetics exercises.
Various cultural aspects of French-speaking communities worldwide will be studied through readings and recordings.
The level is divided into four courses, and each class meets for one hour per day. The courses teach: communicative grammar (3251), phonetics and oral expression (3252), lexical development, comprehension and expression (3253) and francophone cultures and literatures (3254).
