This three-week course combines a curriculum designed specifically for adult students with the rigorous immersion environment of the Middlebury Language Schools and the Language Pledge. Our focus will be on all four language skills. The immersive environment allows learners to strengthen their speaking abilities and encourages rapid mastery of Modern Hebrew grammar and vocabulary. Students start this course at the novice level but have some previous background in Hebrew. By the end of three weeks, it is anticipated that students will be able to converse about daily life topics such as food, weather, family and their hometown. In addition, we focus on giving tools to students so they are able to create a short narrative about themselves as well as ask questions so they can learn about other people. We will document each student’s journey and share it with them. It is anticipated that by the end of the course students will be able to create a short paragraph-length narrative.
