Level 2 is designed for students who have already acquired basic French language skills (about 60 hours of French instruction). The course places special attention on the development of self-expression, communicative proficiency, written and oral skills, and cultural insights. To reach this goal, students will also develop their grammatical, lexical and phonetics knowledge. Class materials and activities are developed to meet the students’ needs. The materials are realistic and selected to correspond with current topics, coming from authentic documents such as francophone press articles, radio and TV extracts. Each skill and topic is addressed in a task-based and communicative method and immerses the student in real-life situations. The section is divided into four courses: grammatical structures, with a separate workshop (3201), oral interaction and phonetics (3202), written comprehension and expression (3203), introduction to francophone cultures (3204), grammar and communication workshop. In each course, performance and progress will be assessed on a weekly basis in addition to a final exam.
