Instructed Second Language Acquisition

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the field of instructed second language acquisition (ISLA) to better understand the complexity and scope of the task facing second language learners. The course will focus on the hypotheses, theories and models proposed to explain the different factors involved in second language learning and teaching (linguistic, cognitive, emotional, motivational, and socio-psychological). Particular attention will be paid to current research in ISLA and its application to teaching French as a second language.
