Arabic Language Pedagogy: Theory and Practice
This graduate-level course introduces the principles and practices of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It examines the linguistic, pedagogical, and psychological foundations of Arabic language instruction and explores major approaches and methods used in the field. The course addresses the teaching of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as vocabulary, grammar, and cultural competence. It also covers instructional planning, materials selection and evaluation, the integration of educational technologies, including artificial intelligence and e-learning tools, and contemporary issues such as the teaching of Modern Standard Arabic, regional dialects, and Arab-Islamic culture.
