Introduction to Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language

The course is an introductory teaching seminar designed for students aspiring to become professional second language teachers. Its purpose is to equip students with the theories and methods of international Chinese education, to familiarize them with the essential qualities required of international Chinese teachers, and to cultivate individuals capable of teaching Chinese effectively on an international level. Through various interactive classroom activities, the course covers the following topics: 1) international Chinese education and related disciplines, 2) major approaches in second language teaching methodology, 3) theories of second language acquisition, and 4) teaching practice and case studies. The course includes lectures, discussions, readings, class presentations, teaching observations, and demonstrations.
