The Advanced Italian Syntax course provides an in-depth study of the major syntactic structures of contemporary Italian. Designed for students with advanced proficiency, the course develops the analytical and practical skills necessary to understand and use complex sentence patterns accurately and effectively.

The course examines sentence structure, verbal systems, mood and tense selection, coordination, subordination, complex periods, information structure, and textual cohesion. Through linguistic analysis and targeted practice, students strengthen their command of advanced grammar while developing greater awareness of stylistic variation and register.

Students engage in a variety of activities that emphasize the relationship between syntax, meaning, and communication. Particular attention is given to the role of syntactic choices in shaping clarity, precision, and sophistication in spoken and written Italian.
