Policy Lab: Civic Education

In this policy lab we will work with schools in Addison County, Vermont to develop civic education curricula and identify best practices for teaching effective, engaged citizenship skills. We will begin by studying existing research on civic education; next we will examine the specifics of the Vermont context, undergo training in qualitative research methods, and finally undertake a team research project to implement and evaluate a model civic education module in schools. This course contains a community-connected component.
