The class will discuss major issues Germany has to deal with today: Integration of foreigners; environmental protection and the fight against climate change; deployment of German troops abroad; elections in several German states, and the repercussions for politics on the national level. Topics will be added according to events during the course of the semester.

Students will do at least two in-class presentations and write one longer paper in German.
