This is a course for students who may work internationally and be involved in putting together and managing partnerships/joint ventures or other collaborative associations between enterprises in different countries and regions of the world, both private and public, commercial and social, large-scale and entrepreneurial. The topics include the decision to partner or collaborate, determination of partnering objectives and strategies, partner identification and selection, forming the joint venture, managing an on-going partnership/joint venture, responding to changes and challenges, and issues in disputes and terminations/exit strategies. Specific skills focus on decision-making and finding solutions to problems, presentation and persuasion of ideas, collaborative/intercultural environments, and managerial analysis and making recommendations.
