This course addresses the importance of negotiations as a tool for the manager in resolving organizational conflict and guiding organizational change. The course will focus on routine organizational interactions (worker performance, interpersonal disputes, worker grievances), customer service and strategic planning. In each case, the lectures and exercises will examine how applying negotiations, facilitation and mediation techniques can enhance the ability of the manager to perform his or her many organizational roles. Students will learn through a series of group exercises and simulations and a negotiations training exercise.
