US Trade Policy
This workshop will explore the political economy of US trade policy and its impact on the global trading system. It will cover the historical and political construct of US policy-making, including the legislative evolution, the political shifts, and the transformation of institutions htat formulate and implement trade policy. Discussion will include the legal structure for trade remedies (AD/CVD, safeguards), Sec.301 enforcement (export promotion), unfair practices enforcement (patent protection), WTO dispute settlement strategy, the current US PTA agenda, and other issues.
