Career management is an essential life skill whether you are just starting along your career trajectory or a mid-career professional. Our Career Management Workshop Series synthesizes your academic and professional goals, preparing you for future internship and job opportunities. Together we will start to explore your new professional neighborhood, build upon your strengths to create a personal brand and professional documents, and practice networking in order to gain internship and job opportunities. In a series of engaging, interactive, short sessions, we will work with you to explore, clarify, and activate your professional vision.



Topics covered will include: Industry Framing, Personal Branding, Professional Documents, and Networking.



This course is highly recommended for first-semester students; although, students in any semester are welcome. No tuition is charged for this non-credit course. All students are welcome in this course, although advisors teaching the course support the EPM, IEM, IPD, NPTS, MPA, and Trade (i.e., Policy) programs. This course meets for one hour or less during Community Hours, so you are welcome to bring your lunch to the sessions. We will have separate workshops on Interviewing and Compensation Negotiation later in the semester. This course includes some asynchronous assigned work on Canvas.
