Populism in France & in Europe
Populism is back again in many European countries and will be an important force in the next European elections (end of May 2019). We will precisely define the notion of populism from an historical point of view and from a conceptual perspective. Then, we will study the electoral successes of populism during the last thirty years. Finally, we will explore the main political components of today’s European populism. The different economic, political and societal factors of the populism's dynamics will be analyzed. We will conclude by discussing the future of populism in France and Europe.
