Teaching Practicum
Teaching Practicum
Students will bridge Second Language Acquisition theory and practice, focusing on backward design, proficiency-oriented language instruction, content integration, gradual release of responsibility, and authentic material use. Students will design and teach lessons, practicing best teaching principles with Language School students, and collaboratively create resources that support inclusivity and diversity in a Russian-language classroom. Mandatory online modules will be assigned prior to arrival to provide graduate students with a foundation in SLA principles and teaching strategies that will be examined more closely during the academic year in light of the practicum experience.
