Writing Workshop 1 Fall 2012
Good college writing comes from frequent exercise, practice, and knowledge of writing skills and techniques. WRPR0100 allows students the opportunity to acquire the skills to become more successful writers, readers and thinkers. The course will emphasize analytical writing, informal writing, writing to learn, the writing process and revision. We will concentrate on improving clarity, organization, and grammar and thesis development and investigate how improving writing style can enhance understanding of course content. In doing so, we will read, discuss and write about literature, film and essay and explore new technologies, such as weblogs and digital stories.
This course is for students who would like extra work on critical thinking and analytical writing. All sections of this course will address a variety of writing strategies and technologies, from free writing to online writing. Each section will focus on a particular theme to be determined by the instructor. This course does not fulfill the college writing requirement.
