Latin American Short Stories
Great Latin American Short Stories
In this course we will read 20 of the greatest Latin American short stories of all time. We will use literary analysis and theory to unpack these readings with an emphasis on narratology. Authors may include Jorge Luis Borges, Juan Rulfo, Clarice Lispector, Julio Ramón Ribeyro, Gabriel García Márquez, Samanta Schweblin, among others. We will draft, share, re-work, and finalize writing assignments as a tool to build students' ability to analyze literature.
