In this course, students will learn about the entrepreneurial framework and start their own business or non-profit organization, while gaining an appreciation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. While working independently or in groups, students will engage in the process, from ideation to launch, via class discussions, deliverables, and hands-on mentoring from professors, visiting entrepreneurs, and investors. We will focus on building a prototype, testing the intended market or target group, and engaging with potential clients or customers. Students will also meet and connect with innovation leaders and world-renowned companies here in Vermont. Students should be prepared for hands-on work outside of class time.
